What we do to help you 😉
Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM) utilizes herbs and herbal formulas to strengthen organ function and support well-being. Chinese herbal formulas, some in use for more than 2,200 years, are composed of ingredients chosen to function together with one another.
In Western medicine, medications are usually prescribed individually for a selected effect. In classical TCM herbal formulas, each herb incorporates a different purpose or role to assist the body achieve harmony. TCM also looks at the healing properties of foods the same way. Different foods carry different energies which will go on to specific systems to assist them heal.
Acupuncture is an art of healing by insertion of needles in certain specific points on a person’s body. In Chinese Medicine theory, Meridians run through our body like a web, connecting and dispersing energy call Qi throughout the network. Acupuncture points are energy dense areas, that are used to regulate and balance the ebb and flow of our energy network.
What can be treated with acupuncture?
Acupuncture treats a wide range of physical and emotional conditions including, but not limited to:
- Pain Management: back pain, headaches, muscle sprains/strains or weakness, arthritis, acute injury, repetitive stress injury, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic pain, sciatica, post-surgical recovery
- Gynaecological problems: infertility, irregular menstruation, painful menstruation, endometriosis, PMS, menopausal symptoms
- Digestive disorders: irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhoea, acid reflux, hyperacidity, indigestion, ulcerative colitis, gastritis
- Respiratory problems: allergies, asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, cough
- Fatigue
- Insomnia & sleep disorders
- Increased immunity against disease
- Stress or anxiety conditions
- Speeds healing following injury or surgical procedures
- Encourages the feeling of well-being
An advantage of acupuncture is that it treats both your symptoms and also the underlying causes of illness. When the cause is addressed, your entire system benefits. Additionally, symptoms you would possibly have thought to be unrelated are often resolved or prevented.
Unbeknownst to many, they have a slanted hip or shoulder, one leg might be longer, their head favors tilting or rotating to one side. All that is just the tip of the iceberg.
Now, some may ask how does that affect them at all? So what if I am “right handed, right footed” or “right hipped, left necked”?
Well, to be fair, it doesn’t really affect a person too much until it does! That uncomfortable feeling in your neck that you have to “click” away? Unexplained back pain that won’t go away no matter what you do? An ankle that gets sprained again and again?
In our everyday lives, it is important to have a balanced and functional bodily structure. We strive to look for imbalances and fix them, it is also more or less a prevention toward future agony.
Modern day habits has changed how we move or position ourselves. Consequently, our breathing gets locked up by our posture patterns. Activating the locked up accessory breathe muscles will free up your ability to draw air deeper.
Breathing deeply increases the movement range of the chest, abdominal muscles, and organs. It increases the amount of oxygen inhaled and CO2 exhaled.
By increasing blood circulation, it decreases fatigue and relaxes a person emotionally.
Breathing deeply will increase your core stability as well, as your diaphragm generates more postural support. Without getting too technical, deep breathing increases inner core pressure and help stabilize your core. (Imagine an inflated balloon vs deflated one)

Myofascial decompression is a soft tissue therapy that encourages healing by creating a suction on the skin to pull up underlying tissues, blood, and other fluids close to the surface of the skin.
Myofascial release can speed up recovery, stretch muscles and connective tissue, improve overall well being and so much more.
There’s a saying in Chinese Medicine: “If it flows freely, there will be no pain.” (Trust me, it sounded much cooler in Chinese). In TCM theory, when there is a trauma to the body, be it on the muscles, tendons or bones, blood stagnation/clotted blood will form around the wounded area.
This stagnation blocks the flow of Qi and blood. i.e. circulation. If it is not addressed, the pain will never go away.
Cupping will be best applied on this area, to increase blood flow and circulation, increasing the rate of metabolisation. Once the stagnated blood is dealt with, the circulation of Qi and blood around the affected area will improve. Achieving “pain free” through “flow”.
